Testing the use of a x 2 barlow with ed 80.
Dark skies would have been better but there is more detail of core than using prime focus i think dew to less over exposure.
some thing to play with anyway.
5x2min,400d,iso400

Nice effort, pretty sharp and all, considering M42 is so low at the moment, nice work.

Not sure Alex, haven't really looked, but it is quite high at 7 am in the morning, so i suspect it would be around 4 or 5 am.

Nicely done. It is sooo easy to overexpose those central stars.
