22nd July Jupiter

Hi all,

It was good to capture Jupiter again after 3 weeks of cloud and bad conditions. Tried out the new laptop, and it worked well after I selected the correct codec on avi number 6.

Jupiter was being constantly washed with waves of blurred seeing, so I would only rate the conditions at 4.5/10 .

Captured with 2x barlow only due to the low grade conditions.

I am pleased with how the final image turned out.

That is a very nice picture. I had mediocre seeing last night as well but mine isn't nearly as good!! You captured almost the exact same face that I did a couple of days earlier so it was interesting to compare the changes. Thanks.

Awesome result Lester, it is hard to believe that the seeing was below average. This image definitely does not show it.

Yes the seeing conditions with this result at first puzzled me to. Out of 4,500 frames I got 650 at 90%, where as with the July 2nd avis I was getting over 2,000 frames stacked at 90%. So I guess what has saved the image here is the number of frames that I still had to use and the smaller image scale.
