After a wet and windy week, Saturday night cleared slightly which gave me a chance to setup and play around during drinks at a friends.
Took a quick go at capturing Jupiter with the cheap CCD camera on the 3X barlow for the first time and made a 2min avi. Downloaded Registax and attempted stacking. I had no idea what I was doing but the final result seemed to come out ok. Cant wait for next try with more favourable conditions.
:D

Is a bit small, but is not a bad image. It need some deconvolution enhancement only and it become a nice picture!

Nice result Daniel. Especially for a first attempt... :) You've even got Io's transiting shadow, and Io out to the right.

Done with the Skywatcher 8" Dob? if so - a great result!

Well done.

That's excellent for a first go! after stacking, did you do any other processing? Wavelets etc?

Not sure what that is, but I'll check it out.

Yup. SW 8". :)

I did mess around slightly with the gamma, contrast/brightness a bit.

Thanks for comments

Downloaded Deconvolution filters from AstraImage and adjusted in PS; need larger scale capture..5x powermate?
Can this be done to .avi files also to improve the playback quality ??
no-processed to processed. :P

Impressive first attempt mate. You have capture some nice clear detail and some good colouring in the bands.

Well done and keep them coming.

Wavelets worked a treat Mike, Thanks.
added some Deconvolution as well
Detail is better but image looks flat. Need larger scale :D

Fantastic shots. Have a read of my planetary imaging articles in the Projects & Articles section.

You'll get some tips about processing et.c

Nice improvement Daniel... A bit of processing goes a long long way...

Mike, I pointed Daniel to your article on planetary imaging yesterday. Best resource around on the topic :)
