looks like it's going to be a very interesting doco. i always seem to miss these things though. hope you all get to watch it! something to keep those brain cells from frying seeing as there isn't anything stimulating on tv anymore.

The problem is, wouldn't that show be a bit outdated? It would still be relevant to watch though and plus, I haven't seen it yet so it would definitely be a good show to put on. The Planets series is also great, but already, a lot of the info is a bit outdated. For instance, they were talking about the impending mission to Saturn with the slated Cassini mission. It's amazing but now they are there and are finding so much information already.
Did anyone catch the string theory doco sometime a few weeks ago? It was a bit heavy for my brain but still interesting nonethless.

Hey fellas, just finished watching origins. Sure was interesting. At first, I thought it was one of those old docos from cosmos era but it was all new! It just seemed so old fashioned I suppose. Much easier to get my head around this show than the string theory one.
The part about the camouflage sea creatures was amazing - that octopus thingo just jumped right out of no where! My fiance tells me that the US are trying to develop something similar for their fighter planes.
I really like all the questions the show raised about the chances of life arising elsewhere and in what form it would be etc.
What did everyone else think of it?

I thought it was a great show! Very interesting indeed. the sea creatures were definitely interesting and showed intelligence from an evolutionary path different than our own.

Looks like a good series, it's on next monday as well.

Don't forget to watch Monday's episode all! I'm sure you've all forgotten due to the xmas rush so I'm just reminding you all now. Ha, no excuse for missing it now!
The first episode really set the idea that the question is not whether there is life out there but what kind of life is out there. It will be interesting to see whether they find anything on Titan. The next biggest mission will be when they head back to Europa. With all that water, there must be something there at least! Even in the deepest darkest crevices, the hottest deserts, the most harshest environments to humans, do we find life, thriving, surviving, and living right here on Earth. We have such a diversity here on earth that it is hard to imagine that we are the only ones that show evident signs of life. Surely with all those exoplanets they are discovering, at least one might harbour some form of life. It would be a turning point in the history of human beings when life is discovered elsewhere.
