Hello,

Whilst waiting for Near Earth Asteroid 2008 BT18 to clear some trees, I captured an image of Uranus and 3 of his moons. 20 sub frames of 3 secs each. Umbriel was not resolved due to the glare from the disc of Uranus.

Thanks Mike. According to The Sky Professional V6, I think (?) that I managed to pick up a UCAC 2.0 Star, magnitude 15.84 at RA: 23h 33m 32.03s and Dec: -03°43'42.93".

It sure felt good to be driving the ‘scope and mount once more, although it took me a couple of hours to get into the groove!

Thank you Lester, Matt, Roger and Dave; I’m paying the price for an all nighter right now, dozing off at the keyboard as I didn’t get a chance to go to bed at all – too much stuff to process!

It seems like months since I last did any imaging, so it felt really good to be outside, capturing night time photons once more!

Thank you Clive and Jeff. I think the Mewlon’s F12 design and the sensitivity of the ST7E are quite well suited to this type of work.

However, I’ll be sure to try the DMK21AF04 next time to see if the frame rate and sheer volume of AVI data can achieve similar results.

Thanks Al and Ric. We’ve had some clear, although rather chilly skies of late in Brissie and with the bright full Moon, it was good to have Uranus and Neptune to point the ‘scope at.
