Here's last night's attempt to improve on my M20 image. This one is 30x2 mins each channel giving a total 3 hrs imaging. Same setup as before: DSI II pro through the ED80 with autoguiding. I managed to get some rotation between the channels this time - possible due to poor polar alignment or I moved the camera when I changed the filter wheel position. Despite this I think it's a slight improvment on the previous night. Looking forward to astrofest to get some help from the pros (and no moon)

Very nice work, and once again, great colours! ;)

Hi Peter

A very impressive image, despite the slight field rotation you have already mentioned! I particularly like the subtle blue hues in nebulosity, something quite difficult to achieve. It is quite a remarkable result for an 80mm ‘scope!

Very nice Peter, you are capturing some nice images with the DSI. As mentioned the subtle blue hue of the nebulosity has come out very nicely.

Cheers

Thanks for the encouragement Ric, Dennis and Nick. I'm really impressed with the DSI despite all the flaws in the software and it works nicely with the Meade series 5000.

I'm determined to get a good image of this at Astrofest next week and I'm planning to give the 10" newt a try with the DSI and guiding.
