Who is going to QLD Astrofest?

Thought I might make up name tags this time, so we can put names to faces.

i would have loved to have went but the cost of petrol and the fact i had surgery on my right shoulder early this week just made it an impossibility
maybe next year Qld will get to have a look at my freezer suits

hate to say it Petra - but even Border Stargaze has a question mark at the moment - i just might have to ship my prize donations down to you - hope not though

Yep they do have name tags, but after a few days you forget about wearing them. What we need is personalized IIS T-shirts with our member name on it. :thumbsup:

I booked and hope to go jj ..but my mother has been in intensive care for the last 3 weeks and I'm unsure how its going to work out..I was going to sleep in my car so havn't booked accomadation ...would it likely be a problem if i'm unable to go ?..I havn't sent payment yet and was wondering can you pay when you arrive.

I understand no.

Because of the high demand for beds it is not recommended that you just turn up. You could easily do this several years ago, when things were more casual, but I understand that the current number of attendees make this difficult.

I think you will find Anne-Marie accomodating regarding refunds, especially for family/health reasons. Suggest you send an email to the Registrar setting out your difficulties and see what can be worked out.

I was only going on the last Friday and Saturday nights, but I've been granted a leave of absence for Thursday night too.
I'll have the car packed on Wednesday, and leave for Duckadang about 5 minutes after the school bus picks up the kids on Thursday morning.

STEVE, your kidding???? I am turning up Friday morning and leaving the Sunday of the SECOND week! Does this mean I will miss you and Randall? Who will I drink red wine with? Who will go cow tipping with me? Who will I play the guitar for???? dang it, I am bringing my 9 year daughter this year too, for the first time ever, hopefully she will find someone her own age to play with. Never mind, I am sure I will catch up with you all next month at Ron's.

Sorry Dennis but it's true, myself and the good Dr Morbius and Mini_Morbius are all arriving the first Saturday, and leaving again by midweek.

My own decision is based on the fact I can stay 4 nights early on in the camp and need take only 2 shifts off work, if I come later in the week I have to take 4-5 shifts off.

*shrugs*

It's a damn shame that we'll miss catching up with you and Jeanette, and possibly others. Not much else I can do though, if I still want to have time off work for the Barambah camp in late September as well.
