Holly crap Greg, that is awesome, your a quick learner. Youve slightly over smoothed the outer neb, but a worthy effort (and sheesh, your asking me?). Very nice, you ww you ;-)
What's the incentive for removing the stars?
Not criticism, just trying to work out why?

It accentuates the gas cloud stucture effect without star distraction. Not to say its better or worse, just different, for an oft imaged object, its nice to see a different perspective methinks.

Its just a different look.
Russell Croman was the first I saw doing this.
It suits some objects and not others.

Very nice Greg, I'm enjoying this new starless perspective. I haven't seen this before but I'm finding it very enjoyable to view.

Very nice Greg. It is very odd no having any stars in the image.
Very well done.
