Arose around 3am, after the moon had set to have a go at some star trails over the HawkesburyRiver.
Unfortunately used to low an ISO rating and had to push it a little in Photoshop.

240, 30 second exposures at f3.5 and ISO200
Stacked in startrails.de
Nikon D200, Nikor Ed 18-70mm at 18mm.

Cheers

Another awesome image of star trails Deeno. Love the framing. Very well done.

I had a go myself at capturing star trails this evening but was stopped short by dew forming on the lens. I captured only about 20 frames.

Very nicely done. Would've been even better to see a bit more of the reflections.

That's beautiful Deeno
I think the composition is very nice too.
Makes me want to give this kind of shot a go, so I suppose your shot could also be described as 'inspirational'!!

Very well done

Thanks again Geoff. Really enjoying trying these.

Thanks Houghy

Cheers Alex but, I really stuffed this one up a bit.

Thanks Matt Knocked up a dew strap from the resister recipe found here in IceInSpace which is then velcroed to the lens hood. Works a treat!

Thanks Mike. Next time I’ll double the ISO. The reflections can be bought out in Photoshop but, it makes the foreground really ugly.

what program do you use to stack the photos? I want to make some Northern Hemisphere star trails but I'm not sure how to stack the photos

thanks!

that's a sweet picture by the way

Wow what a lovely shot mate.
Love the composition too.
Well done.

ISO 400 would be better and maybe add a single ISO800 or a short ISO1600 just to bring out the foreground a bit next time.

Amazing image Deeno.

It looks like we could just step into the time tunnel for a ride somewhere.

The water looks just like glass....well done mate.
