I'm yet to test this.. but an idea occured to me yesterday as I was trying to balance a stack of CD sleeves on my desk yesterday as I was trying to tidy up my desk at home. The stack just kept falling over, as the sleeves just kept slipping from each other. On closer inspection the plastic CD cleeve material is kinda similar to a milk bottle.. but alot more slippery! And under load, by pushing them together the friction didn't seem to increase as it can with milk bottles. I'll be testing some out probably in the next couple of days as an instead of the milk bottles. The only thing down point to them is that they are very thin, so i'll be experimenting with them and milk bottle washers as well. Just thought I'd share with you all.

People have used them with success el, so give it a go and let us know. The milk bottle washers will give you the fine adjustment needed to get the right height .

Speaking for CD bits and pieces I am currently using three milk bottle washers, and two of the foam stopper rings that come with CD/DVD spindles to get the extra height. So far its working fine. :)

Do they slide easily enough? I thought they might get "stuck"..?

The milk bottle washers are on either side, so they slide between them easy enough. Its about the right height for my base, and I needed a stop-gap after putting the super sliders on. I might make some more milk bottle washers soon and test the difference. Doesnt feel any worse than the plain milk bottle washers did, though.
