Wow Paul, that's stunning! Heaps of detail and great colours.

The mod. makes all the difference. I got the clear filter so I could do wideband imaging in the future ( if I decide too ). I use a 2" screw on Baader IR cut filter and it all works fine. Hutech also sell a filter which makes corrects the colour balance back to "normal" so that you can still use the camera for normal daylight/flash photography. And..... the AUS dollar is currently very high...;)

PS. Don't forget if you have nowhere to setup your AP 6" and FLI ProLine,,, well there's always my obervatory

Hi Paul, that is a lovely image. The clarity and colour is excellent. The extension of the blue nebulosity looks amazing as well.

Hello Greg,
I think the recoating certainly made a minor improvement. You may be interested to know the reason I needed it recoated.
Recently I purchased a WO 110mm refractor and have been using that to do some wide field imaging for a change.
When I disassembled the GSO 12" from the mount I stood the OTA on it's end so it was facing skyward and then forgot about it for a few months. Then when considering it was time to resurrect the 12" I was horrified to find that something (maybe glue?) has dripped (over time) from the secondary mirror onto the primary mirror and permanently stained the mirror surface. So that's why I had to have the re-coat done. Moral of the story is: never store your GSO pointing skyward?
regards
