Well at last that horrid wind has died down and I managed to image Comet Boattini this morning! Some high cloud made me wait longer than I hoped but still managed 11 subs..This image is from 10 subs @ 200 sec at iso 800 with 6" newt and 20D.
Pushed fairly hard and a bit rushed in processing but here it is anyway!
Shall sit down at a later date and do it more carefully!
Glad to get the sucker at last in the morning sky....
Ion tail is heaps brighter since its close encounter..
cheers Gary

Thanks Mike, Matt and Rob!...
Have reprocessed it and cropped for a nicer image!...:)
Re-imaged it again this morning with quiet long exposures and the Ion tail is a bit longer than captured with this image, but unfortunately I didn`t focus too well in the rush so I might try again in the next few nights..
cheers and thanks for looking.
Gary
A lovely shot Gary, very nice to see the ion tail on it now.
It kind of looks like you were shining a green laser pointer to it. :D

Thanks Andrew and Steve,
Not sure of the exact magnitude but it would be around mag 6?
To much cloud this morning to see it, maybe tomorrow morning.
cheers
A lovely image Gary, great colour and that tail looks a ripper.
Cheers
