Hi all,
Started a project to image as many of Jupiter's moons as my equipment will allow. This is an animation of J6 (Himalia).
First exp.
TIME-OBS = '12:06:04'/HH:MM:SS observation start time, UT/22:06 EST
EXPTIME = 600.0 /Exposure time in seconds x3
Position is close to 19 12 19.8 -22 41 47
There is another object (marked ?) in the upper left corner.

Astrometrica gives no solution to either, probably due to them being Jovian sat's. Guide 7/8 only identifies J6.

Ok it's up to you. Any ideas?

The colour is an artifact of the animation process.

Incredible, how many other moons have you imaged?

I had only just started this project -last night.
Attached is the easy one.
21:54:27 EST
0.004sec exp
I managed one image of J8 & J11 on the one frame but ice:scared: stopped me by fogging the secondary and filter. So I couldn't blink to positively identify them.

This seems a simple project for imagers, I would be happy for others to contribute their trials and successes :D.

Wow jeff, that's awesome.

What's the size and magnitude of that moon?

Guide 8 gives J6 at mag 14.9
Radius=93km

Using Astrometrica I got mag 13.6
" MaxImDL " 14.6

For the ? object
Astrometrica = mag 17.3
MaxImDL = " 18.6

However, my data is darked only -so not reliable.:whistle:
