Al - it was snowing down on our place yesterday too, apparently. A bit of a snap in the air, what!

anyone know, did it snow in Katoomba as forecast?

I don't know. It was pretty hit and miss. The snow was coming down pretty heavy in big flakes in town just before I left work, but no sign of it at home 10ks away. Basically just showers, not widespread.

Fingers crossed for tonight though!;)

The bureau is predicting snow down to 900 metres tonight so there might even be a dusting out our way.:cold:

That will stop puss going out for early morning piddles.

Nice coverage here this morning. The grass is still peeping through though, so not enough to stop me getting to work... Hopefully we'll get more during the day.;)

Wish it would get cold enough here for me to make snow (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snow_cannon).....
Can even be done at 5degC if the humidity is right.
Would love to freak someone out by covering their car or lawn in snow!

Snow, you can have it. Still have memories of standing in 6 inches of the stuff waiting for a bus to work and couldn't feel anything below my ankles. Nice to to see on an Xmas card, best place for it :)

I agree, snow is nice to look at if it's at a distance! I'm just back from Hobart where there was snow on the top of Mt Wellington - close enough to visit if you're that way inclined.

That's as close as you want to get. We had a big snow here a couple of years ago. Some people didn't have electricity for a few weeks. The only heating people could rely on was their log burners.

Besides that it's simply toooooo cold for me. :cold:

Never seen it .... ever . Nor has my wife .

If there is some tomorrow at Scone or the Barrington Tops , might take my wife to see it (only a 90 min run from here) , maybe get some snaps with that new 40D Enthusiast Kit.

Good excuse for a day trip , been a while since we did one.

Anyone know if there has been any snow up at Scone , in the Barrington Tops and Gloucester Tops today , believe it will be colder tomorrow , and pretty windy tomorrow , so good conditions for snow ????

I hear ya! Winter is the spawn of the devil. Never mind the cold, I just have a shot or 100 of Jack Daniels to warm up. :P

But it is great snuggling and cuddling weather :D, the best place is under the doona in bed with someone friendly.

I always remember my first experience of snow as a 8 year old and we had just gone to Italy to visit the relatives.

We were staying with my grandmother on a 100 year old farm, the bedrooms were upstairs and the kitchen/loungeroom were downstairs except you had to go outside and downstairs to travel between the two.

There was 8 feet of snow one night and took over an hour to dig through to the kitchen in the morning, I have never been so cold before or since that day.

As mentioned previously, "It looks great on postcards"

Been snowing on the hills around me for a couple of days solid now. White mud I hate it. Nice on post cards but work in it when it is starting to melt and the best you can do is turn it yellow. YUK

That was a famous Frank Zappa song "Yellow Snow"

"Watch out where those husky's go, don't you eat that yellow snow"

I guess I was in my mid twenties when I first moved to Oberon, and I hadn't seen snow before that, but I enjoy it.

My mum was over 70 before she saw snow on a visit here. That was brilliant! It was so good to see my mum running around in the snow like a little kid! She had so much fun, and didn't complain about the cold at all!:lol:

Got back last night from a job on Tassies west coast. There was quite a bit of snow on the highlands, I was worried that I'd be stuck there for the weekend. Drove back at night, there's something magic about driving through snow covered countryside at night.
