a meagre attempt of Saturn with very bad seeing and at about 40% from the horizon 232 frames. This is my first attempt at imaging Saturn on this scope and with a CCD. Reasonably happy for a first attempt

Nice crisp image.
What is your setup? ToUCam? Are you using a barolw? They can often help the image size. But unfortunately there is no cure for poor seeing.

That's a good first attempt Paul, I don't think Saturn gets much higher than 40 degrees this year.. it seems very far north every time I try and image it.
That's using the LPI isn't it?
The colour is very blue - are there any white balance settings with the LPI?
And as Robby said, don't forget to chuck the barlow in for a bigger image scale, if the seeing allows it!
Can't wait for your next attempts!

Well done , the prominent dark band on the disk of the planet came out well and the cassini division is i think visible, nice :)

Thanks all for the comments. Yes it is the LPI, and no I have not played with the white balance setting. I do have two barlows a meade 2x teleconverter and a televue 3x barlow. I tried both on that night but all I got was a huge swirling blob. This was the best I could do with the seeing as it was. The barlows do bring the image scale up considerably and I do want to image with them. So when I go away to my block I will try to get some good shots.

Hey did not notice that I had caught cassini division, now that I have had a good look, I can see it. Excellent. But I still need more practice.
Good on you Paul great first effort, lovely photo. :D
