Here are my morning images of Boattini so far, taken from Nambucca Heads on the planetary imaging camp.

First one from the 29th. I only got 5 exposures before the morning twilight turned the images blue. I slept through the alarm and started late :( No flats :( ICNR darks.

Second and third are from this morning, 1st July. First one is 11 exposures but unfortunately I forgot to change the settings from small jpeg to RAW :( No flats, ICNR darks. The third is 6 exposures in RAW. Flats + ICNR darks.

All exposures are 1 minute.

I can see a hint of tail (extending to about the 1:30'oclock position) but my laptop shows things brightly so you may not see them.

Tomorrow morning i'll try and get everything working correctly and take many more exposures and try to get the tail to show more.

I can easily see the comet in the finderscope so it's pretty bright. I can just make it out naked eye as a faint smudge.

Well done, Mike:thumbsup:

I've never imaged a comet before ... so you've got plenty more runs on the board than me.

Visable to the naked eye you say.... hrmmm.. **grumble grumble...Alex goes digging throug big bag 'o' gear... Alex pulls out 300mm F4/L...

"Im going to image it with this on the weekend (weather permitting..)" says alex... "As my EQ6 pro arrives FRIDAY!"

(i know tis off topic for this thread. but Im a bit excited and im just putting it out there where ever i get the chance.)

Good onya for getting up that early to capture it.
We've been plagued with morning fogs here and have little chance to see it.
Thanks for posting.
