Feeling confident with the polar alignment, I've dived straight to 200mm with my ultra budget setup.
Even though the tri-pod legs on the no-name eq-mount have now been filled with builders foam to reduce vibrations the occasional breeze only allowed seven of the twenty or so exposures usable.
7 frames at iso800 and f2.8 for 2 minutes + darks
And I've managed to take a flat which makes a huge difference!!!
Stacked in DSS and minimal processing in Photoshop.
Comments and advice always welcome

Niiiice! color is perhaps a touch off, but thats a very smooth shot! focus looks good, as does the alignment + tracking.

A nice piccie:), however what you need is a more robust and heavier tripod so you can take those pics with confidence, without worrying about the tripod shaking.

Nah Deeno, dont listen to them, all they want you to do is make you spend all your money!
Looks very good to me, but then, I am only a poor lonely boy with a toucam and a 5 inch scope, sniff, sniff, sniff, who doesnt even know how to take a flat, more over what to do with it once I have removed it off the car and taken it to the tyre shop.....

Thanks Alex
After a second look it does look a tad purple?
Closer inspection reveals a blue halo around the stars so, I need to spend more effort focusing.
Maybe a eq6 would be nice
:rofl::rofl::rofl:
Who's a funny boy then!!!
Cheers

With an EQ6 you could use your 10" newt and dive real deep! :D
I've just set my new EQ6 up with the camera + 70-200F4L piggybacked ontop I'll be attempting this same shot when all the rain my eq6 conjured up clears... 3 or 4 days I rekon...
