Another image from last year which I reprocessed slightly.

Again fighting reflections from the Astrodon filters but quite a bit of depth showing there is more to M45 than is normally seen.

FSQ106N, STL11, astrodon filters, Tak NJP mount at my dark site observatory.

heaps of nebulosity there - so much so it is almost unrecognisable - impressive!!

Good going greg you got all the wisps of nebulosity captured nicely ,plus a lot of fainter stuuff to.
I am glad you posted this as i will be gunning for it later this year.Now i now the field of view i will be getting!
Hmmmm i have astrodon filters to,lucky maybe i still have my astronomiks ha lrgb,s 2 inch

Rob, the Astrodons seem fine on images where there is no really bright star.

The Astronomiks may be fine, I have some but haven't had a chance to use them yet. Mike uses Astronomiks I think and I don't see reflections in his images. I must say I was annoyed they don't supply a spacer to make their thin 50 x 50mm filters fit in the filterwheel. grrrr.

There are new Baader filters that may be the best around now. They are parfocal, they are equal exposure times like Astrodons but they don't do reflections and they are nicely separated one colour from the next.

Also with the larger chip cameras like the 16803 and 09000 chips, reflections halos for some reason become a major issue. I have seen some shockingly bad images from Astrodons and refractors using a field flattener. All scopes virtually except RC's need field flatteners from STL11 on up.
