A bit of high cloud around but the moon was gone (mostly), not original I know but a bit of a standard candle for comparison purposes - this is M20 - 16*3 mins at iso 1600 on the canon 20D, ICNR, stacked and aligned in IP, levels and colour saturation (non-moded camera) adjusted in PS. This is 1/4 res to fit in the file size limit. I am very pleased with the perfomance of this scope, does need careful focussing and will benefit from a flattener/reducer. I will post a detail shot at full res later when I have a chance to process...

Hi John,

Nice image. See if there is some colour in the data for the stars.
It often has to be broought out.

The easiest way I know is to use Noel Carboni's Photoshop actions and one of these is "increase star colour".

If you want, you can email me the image and I can see if there is any colour in the star data.

Stars need to be processed by themselves. There are several ways you can do it.

Greg.

Well done John. Structure and colour saturation of the neb looks good. As Greg mentions the stars don't show much colour, though I don't find this a distraction from the image. Look forward to seeing more with the APO.

Thanks guys - I will try to find time to process better - this was a quickie due to a busy w/e. I think it shows promise - I was happy to see the details in the neb.

The 127APO looks like a winner John picked up lots of detail. Gives a very nice field.

As you say a bit more time on the processing you should be able to improve on what is already a fine image.

Re-processed and cropped...

Very good. It probably could benefit from a light sharpening especially if you lasooed the neb only and applied a light sharpening to that only.
