This is a custom-made precision-machined TMB 115/805 Triplet APO Refractor with LZOS lens/cell serial no 153. The scope comes with optical certification from LZOS Moscow, Russia. The scope was tested against an NP127 and it actually beat the NP127 in resolution despite the 12mm less aperture. The OTA is made of seamless aluminum tube and designed to be telescopic, the second draw tube holding the focuser can be fully retracted into the main tube for airline portability. The entire OTA was designed to maintain perfect collimation from the travel mode to the observing mode, and vice versa. The collimation is dead on. Focuser is 2" Feathertouch with 2.5" travel. The custom tube rings are wire-cut aluminum alloy. Flawless optics.
The entire OTA weighs 13.2 lbs and only 21" long (second tube and dewshield retracted), 28.5" (dewshield retracted), 31.5" (full observing length). The scope has enough backfocus for nature and astrophotography using a DSLR. No issue with balancing. The scope has been tested with 2" TV Everbright and 31mm Nagler T5. Also tested with a Denk Binoviewer and a pair of 14mm XWs.
Price for the OTA and tube rings is AUD4,000.00 pick up in North Sydney.
clear skies,
Arief
