Moon and Jupiter

Outside a few minutes ago and looked up, what else do you do at dusk. Saw the moon and Jupiter next to each other and thought it was worth a snap. Hopefully, someone with reasonable gear will get a better image.

just went outside saw the same thing myself. part of me is hoping that it's a clear night.. but part of me is hoping that it isn't so i can get some work done on some projects.

I took a pic of them this arvo with the video camera, very photogenic. When they were setting, the moon was a real orangey red colour because some of the locals are burning off.
So glad they put off the burns till today, it would have really spoilt our weekend at Astrofest.

It is 7:44 here and they haven't set yet. Just took this pic through the thin fog!

Hey, I ended up taking some photos of it as well, great minds. :) I went for a run this afternoon and noticed venus shining brightly next to the cresent, looked great. I took some pictures yesterday of venus and the moon as well when they were further apart but I won' post those. Both images taken from the first floor balconey of my new place just using the camera on a tripod at around 7:15pm.

On the 10th we should have the moon right next to Jupiter. This time I checked in Astronomy 2005 so I have it right this time!! Hopefully, it will be clear for a photo attempt which really will fulfill the title of this thread :)

I grabbed an image of it too, camera only again though.. its waaay too cold (about 1c at the moment) to get the telescope out tonight (ie. its too hard to leave the warmth of the house to get it out of the shed, and I have a cold :().

thanks rob, am away from home and my telescope and my family. went outside before it snowed in downtown hobart and got to see jupiter and the moon. i knew i could count on the forum guys to take a picture
