Anyone heading up there this weekend?

I won't be there, but I thought I'd start the discussion.

Weather forecast is CLEAR!

Given the weather looks so promising this weekend, it may be worth thinking about. Murphy's Law will no doubt apply with inevitable torrential downpours the following weekend.

SWMBO is overseas ATM, so if I come up it will have to be with three little gremlins. So I will not bring the Mary Rose if I come.

what are you saying Rod ?

"an eyepiece in the focuser is worth two in the case"

This weekend is no good for me and I'm not too sure about next weekend either. All depends on how early I'm reffing on Sunday morning.

Hi all,
Can't make it this weekend. Helping my kids paint some new ceilings. Hoping to get 3 coats on in the one day. I can make the 5th though. Otherwise I'll just have to view from home until next month. The skies are looking great. If it's on this weekend, have a good night!:)

Cheers

It must have been a good night for you folks.
Its 11.15 and no-one is up yet to post the nights proceedings.

I hope the night was good for those who made it. The night cleared well on the Coast.
I got my scope out at home and the seeing was fairly steady.
I had some nice colour in the Great Red Spot as it made its way across old Jupiter.

Yes, it was a beautyful night! :eyepop:

Thanks to Geoff for organising key, coffee and entertainment

Probably the best night ever at the Pony Club. Awesome seeing conditions and great company again. Thanks to all for the looks through their scopes.
All the scopes were showing pristine views of everything particularly Jupiter and the G spot (oops GR spot).
What more can I say but anyone who missed it missed some of the most stable seeing conditions for quite some time.
Again....Awesome!!

I new the conditions were good last night.. :( It was Kate's birthday and when I did setup the scope my mount died.

One of the best nights we've had at the Pony Club to date.
Not to cold, not to dewy and the seeing was really very good.
Always great to catch up with the regulars and see some fresh faces amongst the fold.

Looking forward to next month’s stogie and stargazing session already!

Cheers

Our weather God came good again. Thanks Geoff.
It was a amazing night of good seeing and good company.
We have missed Marry Rose very much, all we had instead was Rod with the kids...:)
It was amazing to see all the scopes suddenly coming with great views of Jupiter. I was very pleased with the Denks....again.

And thanks to Andrew for sorting my white balance problem - it was his red torch shining trough....

A top night indeed, conditions were clear and steady, as if there was ever any doubt.

Again it was great to catch up with all the usuals, sorry to see Rod and the kids had to leave early though.
It was great to meet Greg, he passed our initiation ritual with flying colours. :P Looking forward to catching up again next month.

The views were very very nice last night, with Jupiter almost ruining our night vision LOL.
Deeno did some star trail shots and he's posted his image in this thread so have a look at his wonderful shot.

BEST EVER award goes to last nite
conditions were fabulous

Views of Jupiter were better than i can remember, even from Ilford two years ago - most detail i have ever been able to see

great to see some of our new recruits return, and enjoy the group fun that we have

thanks to Deeno for taking the key back this morning - i must say it felt funny not making that right hand turn
were the "two sleepers" still about ?

thanks for another top nite guy's

I hate Murphy's Law !!!:mad2:.

I'm glad to hear that all you guys had the best night up at the Pony Club in years. Unfortunately my computer at home has been crashing :bashcomp: and it's still getting looked at so I couldn't keep up with what was happening.

When I took a squiz at the sky at about 6pm from home it looked like there was still quite a bit of cloud Mangrove Mtn way so I gave it a miss.

I'll see if I can be there for the next one. Cheers all.
