Hi all,
Taken inside La Sainte-Chapelle, located on Île de la Cité in Paris.
Unfortunately, there are JPG compression artifacts in these re-sized images. The full resolution originals are stunners.

Humayun, that 1st shot is a stunning composition of fore and background!
Lovely...
Hi,
I think they are all stunning, but i'm going for number two. You could just sit there for hours and feel quite at peace.

Lovely images, H. Some serious glass there. I'm surprised its still standing after WW2.
Great shots H, love the colours !

Thanks Humayun, lovely shots. It's tremendous to see it by eye. It's a hidden away non-descript church in central Paris. But inside - WOW! I only knew about it because someone told me. Now you all know, so next time you are in Paris............. :eyepop:

Doug,
I quite like that first shot, too. Below, I will post links to 1280x853 (approximately 37% of the original size) shots. It looks a lot nicer in that.
Thanks!

Paul,
You're right. The images don't do this place justice. The interplay of light inside there is incredible.
Thanks.

Mike,
It was built in the 1240s. I'm sure it's been renovated since, then. But, you're correct, the glass is amazing!
Thanks.

Eric,
It /is/ tremendous to see it in person. I didn't know about it, either, until my best friend told me. I only knew about Cathédrale de Notre Dame de Paris.
It was my second day in Paris and I was still getting used to the weight of my backpack. I had my camera, lenses, tripod, guidebooks, jacket, water bottle, and a few other things all in there. I'd lined up for two hours to get into this place and my back was killing me. I felt like calling it quits and heading back to my accommodation, several times.
I waited it out and finally got in. I walked in and looked at the few archways and stained-glass windows and thought to myself, "Is this it? I lined up two hours to see this?" I mean, it was impressive, but, I didn't think it was worth the wait. I then walked upstairs, and, that, is when my jaw dropped. :eyepop:
It was most definitely worth it.
Thanks!

Humayun

Geoff,
Haha! It has been a very, very long time since I've been to Kulnura/alignments. Are we still using the paintball place? When is the next meet? I would love to go if I am not on-call for work and other things don't get in the way. :)
Thanks!

Geoff,
Thanks for the heads up. I went to the pony club, the first time we were allowed to use it. Seemed like a good spot, except for the one annoying light outside that person's house.
And, yes, you know me -- imaging or not, I'm there until the sun comes up. :)

Geoff,
Looks like we both missed out on something. I ran out of time and couldn't do Notre Dame. I'm saving it for next time. :)
