I had a another play at the capturing star colours tonight: Scorpius this time.

I used the Oly E510, with a Sigma 28mm f/2.8 OM lens at f/2.8, 1600ASA, 15 sec, manual focus, ICNR on, IS off, cable release. I got into the routine of adjusting focus while the ICNR was taking the dark, so that the images were both closer together and more consistently spaced.

It's not perfect, as high cloud drifted through during the run, and there's a few artifacts on the defocussed star images, so I will try this one again with the lens stopped down to see what effect that has, or with another wide lens - maybe a Zuiko 24, 21 or 18mm.

Ah, a fleet of ships coming out of hyperspace that just happens to look like Scorpio:P:D:D

Such an interesting effect. It really makes it hard to see the constellation in that :)

Nice work Al,I love it.

 Sort of... it comes from cloudy skies, and other prior arrangements on the occasional night that's clear...

Last night just cleared up as the sun set, and I knew the moon would be up just after 20:00 so I went for the easy option and did a nice simple project!
