I was really impressed by this website http://www.darkatmospheres.com/main.php? where Roth Ritter has adapted his S-BIG 11000 for daytime as well as astro shots.

Its well worth a look - the layout, design and execution could be an example of how best to put a website together - visually stunning. Some of his cloud shots are superb.

Anyone else heard of someone doing this sort of thing?

PS

Found this whilst googling to see if there is any software that can aid in the process of collimating a SCT (i.e. re-centring star and advising tighten both 2 - loosen bolt 3). A touch of serendipity!

Try CCD Inspector by CCD Ware. Has a nice collimation aid which is very similar to what you have described.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I downloaded the trial CCD Inspector and it quickly diagnosed CCD alignment as being about 7 arc seconds off! I now have it to 0.2" as the clouds rolled in before I could finish. This is an excellent bit of software I think I will purchase once some more cash rolls in!
