To flock or not?

Has anybody flocked their scope? I'm wondering if it's worth the trouble of total OTA disassembly. If it is, then my next question is which is the best method - velvet flocking (but doesn't this produce an ongoing problem of fine lint particles continually settling on the primary?) or some super-flat black paint. Any advice appreciated.

yep, its definately worth flocking your scope if you can, in the end i just re-sprayed the inside of the tube and flocked behind the secondary and added baffles in the lower end of the tube using some self adhesive weather stripping. to stop the felt i used from pilling i gave it a light coat of the flat black spray, this will stiffen it up a bit but still let it do its job.

I didn't have enough left from my last project to flock my new tube , so I've ordered some of the self adhesive flocking paper this time ($10 + postage per sheets = 600 sqr in each).

I did a partial flock in a few strategic places behind the secondary and around the top of the tube...I agree that it is worth it and I could see a difference.

I used some sticky backed felt I got at a craft store...a few sheets for a few dollars. I have not had a problem with the felt piling (yet)...

I got the flocking gear from Protostar in USA and compared to flocking material I have seen used from craft shops, it is much darker and less reflective.
