Aluminium angle telescope

Does anyone know of someone who has used Aluminium angle only (no tube truss) for an OTA in either square or hex or octagonal configuration? I am thinking of moding my current OTA again to a lighter design in square configuration and wondered if anyone has attempted it.

Should work but why are you considering angular section?
