Looking at this 2008 Nissan GT-R offered to me recently, car is still in Japan, practically brand new (1700 km's on odo). Basically the total costs will be much less than the Nissan Australia's circa 150k when it gets released here in 2009. One compliance workshop I know already has a test car, so they should get the SEVS approval in the next few months.

Not 'astro' friendly but it's faster around the track than any standard mainstream 911's, Lambo's & Ferrari's (independently tested) for less than half the price, just minus the snob badge :)

Great track + daily car. Anyone interested? I can help you get it :D
Anyone here also go to Wakefield Park race track near Goulburn regularly? Pretty good night sky too there.

probably one of the best so far and much better than those early seasons they repeated recently.

Fifth Gear probably did burn down the Top Gear shed- some deep seated animosity toward Jeremy Clarkson probably bubbled to the surface. :lol:

Parts will be direct from Japan, no big deal, better parts come directly from Japan anyway. Local suppliers here don't normally stock the higher-end performance parts. Nissan Australia will be selling them in 2009.

Fuel consumption is 12.2L/100km, similar to the average late-model Holden Commodore, but with 3 times the performance, handling, technology, drivetrain efficiency, and everything else. Life's short, why think too much about fuel cost :P I already use around 200 litres of 100 octane fuel in a day at the track anyway :shrug::D

Nice cars. I remember the old days when the imported Nissans were something to enjoy, now they're like bums.... everyone's got one. Don't get me wrong, they're still nice cars, just not as much fun to look at when you see ten 180's or Silvia's(or Onevia's/Sil80's for that matter) or GTS-t's a day.

Having previously worked in the industry(www.cypherindustries.com.a u (http://www.cypherindustries.com.au)) I can echo toyo's comment that parts will not be a problem.

Keep in mind that this is not just another Nissan. Not comparable to those old loud distastefully modified budget imports with chromies owned by hoons. The price tag alone (when released here) can buy you a 2-bedroom unit in cheaper areas :)

Cars these days just don't do it for me.
Yeah they go quick and technology is so far advanced that the average Joe can't work on them but, maybe it's old age but a nice comfortable ride does it for me these days.

Think of the money I have saved buy not buying one of these Japanese rockets.

I've got a thing for old 80's MB's. The wife drives the "limo" and the roadster is for the occasional sunny Sunday.
