1 hour imaging the Triffid nebula

Hi
Had a go at a full hours imaging on the Triffid nebula.

2 x 30 mins ISO 800. 300D, 10 inch F5.6 newt. Baader UHCS filter. Right overhead, good conditions, very cold .
viewing night at Kulnura would be nice and clear too, pity I couldnt make it :( Hope those who did had a good time under black skies

AAHHH...Mate!? That's superb! I'm out there right now, & looked at the triffid about an hour ago, longing to see it in colour with the refractor. Youv'e just made my night!

Well done Scott...& naturally I've saved your pic on my computer. Any high res. shots of it? How do you like the baader UHC-S?? I've got one coming shortly, only for visual though.

Yes I think the deep red one is a carbon star, I must see if I can find info on deep red stars like that.

Nice work Scott. Great image!.. What has caused the surronding blue nebula in your shot to go green? Is that an artifact of the UHC-S filter?

yes the colour of the reflection nebula would be due to the filter, and I guess the fact I try to get the sky background fairly neutral and that leaves the hydrogen parts nice and pink, but perhaps leaves the reflection nebula a bit greenish.
