Hi folks,
just a bit of light hearted completely un-astro stuff here, but quite interesting anyway... read on :D
I read a book some time ago called 'The Killing of Justice Godfrey'. It was intended as a work of historical fact and was about a man called Edmund Burie Godfrey who went on to become a magistrate in 1600's England at the time of the plague. And being a brave soul, and personally chasing villains into plague ridden houses and dragging them out to be thrown in the slammer, he received his reward with a Knighthood and became Sir Edmund Burie Godfrey.
Well, his name somehow got entangled in the mysterious papal v protestant plot to bring down the monarchy of the time. He ended up being killed, and was found in a ditch MURDERED by a pair of rogues who were also somehow involved in the plot.
BUT - this is the interesting bit. The conspiracy theorists say that Murder was always on the cards as the word "murder" is clearly contained within the letters of his name ...
e d M U n d___b u R i e___ g o D f R E y
But his fate was sealed when he was knighted and became a SIR. His full name then, of course, became ...
SIR EDMUND BURIE GODFREY, which if you re-arrange the letters, becomes ....
I___F I N D___ M U R D E R E D___ B Y___ R O G U E S
Which of course he was - pretty cool eh ?:eyepop:
Interestingly the story is true, the people are true and the events actually happened. And it's quite spooky that his name translates to the way in which was killed.
Cheers:thumbsup:
