Did anyone get any good shots of the Geminids Meteor shower.

We were at Golden Grove in Western Asutralia on Monday night trying to capture some.

I got this shot. It was from nikon f2. The Exposure was for ten minutes. Using Fuji Provia slide film.

When I got this pic back from the developer, I thought "awesome" then on closer inspection, I must admit, it looks more like jet flew through it.

I don't know Raydar. If it was a plane I would have thought that those light "blobs" along the trail would have been evenly spaced. As it it they get closer together, though at a regular rate. Plus I've not seen plane trails with a bright head like yours.

Then again I can't think of how a meteor would produce those pulses of light so regularly. Good mystery.

Not much help sorry. Good shot though.

I'm pretty sure the "dots" are the strobe on a plane... that's why they're "evenly" spaced, with the space getting a bit shorter as it gets closer.

Well, that and I know one of my mates was flying over there on Monday night... :)

Cheers,
