A compilation of 4 X 10 minute exposures, fully calibrated with Darks,Flats and bias shots.
Camera: QHY8
Gain: 20%
Offset:120
Telescope: Takahashi FS102 guided by QHY5 and ED80
Captured with Nebulosity
Stacked in IPlus
Cropped and final adjustments in CS2

A bit of high level cloud terminated this imaging session. A little of this cloud is evident on some of the brighter stars.

Aaah, so That's what Omega is meant to look like:eyepop:

That would have to be among the best:thumbsup:

Beautiful image Doug. The QHY8 is doing a fine job and you've really got the processing in hand now. Well done

what settings-gain and offset are you using for flats?

This is a really nice image of Omega Doug.

I like the way you have preserved the clusters 3D appearence by not going too hard on the sharpening/resolution in the core.

The Flats are Taken with the same Gain and offset as the light images. The exposure time is varied to give an average saturation of about 20000. About 1/3 full white point. 20 or so images are taken and then combined using ImagesPlus on a median setting to end up with a Master Flat file. Bias fils are shot the same way with the same exposure as the flat files.

I don't really know if this is the correct process but it seems to work OK for me.

Flats and Bia files are taken each imaging run to ensure dust motes and marks are consistant with the particular image run.

looks like hagars light factory is cranking out more images... going like eric (ezystyles ) used to.

Might like a tad more saturation to bring out a bit more star color..

good:)

Crystal clear. Call me old fashioned but I like a bit less density in the colour. It gives the feel that I am still gazing through the eyepiece. Thanks for the beautiful image.
