Should I think that I might get some observing in tonight as the sky is beautifully clear at the moment:) even though the BOM site shows clouds all around:mad2:

I've been optimistic about tonight, spurred on by BOM forecasts of "SUNNY", but surprise surprise we have high cloud moving in from everywhere :mad2: :mad2:

If it's clear, get out there, you never know you could end up with some good viewing.

Looks like the weather sucks everywhere. Even on CloudyNights there's no less than 3 weather whinge threads. And yes, I did participate in all of them!

the whole eastern side of th country, from cape york to Melbourne is covered in cloud, and has cloud forecast for the rest of the week.

Next person to mention global warming will pay big time :mad2: .......

Yes Dave, the only l;ight I have seen from the stars has been brief glimpses through my bino's:) and they have been rearly brief at that:(

I had all the gear out back after colliminating under a cloudless sky this arvo. And then it started to rain, Thank god I put the coverall over the scope and camera .. I left the eyepiece box open and in the open ... it is soaked :(

I'm stuck at work again, and while I'm usually slightly more tolerant of clouds when I'm here as opposed to when I'm at home and able to do some observing (still VERY sympathetic for everyone else of course) however of late I've been logging into the GRAS scopes when it's quiet here to do some remote imaging.

Of course this weekend is a Very dead-quiet, boring, long weekend, there's nothing else going on here, I've done everything here I can find to do, and even the GRAS scopes have been closed / clouded out for the last couple of nights!

This is the 3rd night straight I've been locked up here in the bunker for 12 hours with no means of vicariously indulging my astro habit. :sadeyes:

It's pathetic isn't it.
I did manage to see a few stars last night in the sucker holes. But due to a set of unusual circumstances, I was setup behind an outdoor theatre screen trying to image while the movie was playing. It's the worst light pollution I've had in ages. These are desperate times. You've got to grab the starlight when and where you can.

The days always look so great, it's the 4pm roll in of louds that is so frustrating.

I'm seriously considering going to solar observing/imaging.

Same up here too.....hey guys, just had a brilliant idea!!!:D

Let's make our own space telescope and rocket and send it up. Show these NASA guys it can be done on a budget:P:D
