After struggling with trying to get my EQ6 polar aligned, I decided to setup my trusty Alt-Az mount and image Jupiter.

The seeing conditions were good but weren't as good as I was hoping it to be. Jupiter was jumping all over the place and there was a light to heavy wind.

Taken with my Celestron 8SE SCT, DMK and a 2x Barlow. 1/60sec exposure at 60fps. Stacked in R4 and processed in PS CS3.

Thanks for looking

Nice detail Matty, especially in the equatorial belt and southern polar region.

There appears to be a slight halo around the top and right hand side of the planet, perhaps caused by the wind??

I hope to get a shot of Jupiter tonight.. Have to wait and see what this weather does..

Looks great Matty, plenty of detail in the equatorial bands. :thumbsup:Pity about the eq6 mount... not playing ball?

Thanks Alex,

Even with Jupiter very high in the sky, it looked like it was just rising above the horizon.

Thanks Rob,

I almost got the EQ6 polar aligned but problems with adjusting the Alt stuffed it all up.
