Just when you thought you had seen the best......this time it's M83 :jawdrop:

Taken by Yohannes Schedler again with the 20" corrected Cassegrain from Namibia - just spectacular!

I haven't seen an amateur image of this galaxy that comes close, heck I can't think of a proffesional that looks image like this one (although we don't see many of those anyway). This image is simply fantastic, beautiful and stupendous, I love it

DSLR..? :P

 given the weather and the way it has been what Mike has done is paste up some hubble images in the hallway, then add some sparkle lights from bunnings and turned off all the lights and started to image........;)

Thanks for the link Mike – that is one heck of an M83, "simply the best, better than all the rest" in the words of Tina Turner!

In the immortal words of the Spice Girls, “Is it what you want, what you really, really want?” a 20" corrected Cassegrain. LOL!

Cheers

For some reason, when I went to that page and viewed the piccie, for a minute it didn't show up, and I thought "well, you can't get any smoother than a completely black piccie!!!!":eyepop::P:D
