Greetings,

I am about to order a 8" f4 newt and after qiuck web search I think I have decided on the Catseye collomation set. My question is would the Catseye collomation gear be OK for this type of scope.
thanks and cheers. peter

I use a return path laser colminator for the secondry mirror and a cheshire for the primary for my 10' lightbridge....cheers

Hi Peter..
I use a cheshire crosshair to align the secondary under the focuser so it looks like a circle and to see the entire primary..then use a laser to fine tune the process...from focuser to secondary then adjust to primary centre spot..then adjust primary mirror for the return beam to it's source.
Cheers!

Thanks for the replies, I will keep reading and hopefully make a informed choice ( or buy a refractor ).

Peter, I haven't used the Catseye system however it would be considered as one of the better (if not best) collimation setups for a newtonian, probably one of the most expensive too, but certainly considered high quality.
