Here it is, M16 a compilation of 10 X 15 minute subs with 10X15 min Darks subtracted. 20 X Flats and 20 X Bias subs also.
These shots were taken last night with the darks, flats and bias shots done today.
I am realy happy with this shot.

That's pretty good Doug, lots of sparkle, perhaps a slight reduction in brightness around the pillars might be worth a try..? :)

Thanks Mike. I agree but am unsure how to do it. More research needed.

Sheesh Doug, thats very good. Guiding, focus, excellent. Nice diffraction spikes.

I zoomed in and croped to hell, the detail is still awesome and stars are still round. Well done :D. The QHY8 looks an awesome cam.

Looks good Doug, the QHY8 is quite an affordable 6Mp camera as well, I was surprised when I checked them out .... ofcourse you do have to add guide scope and guide camera etc. What is your setup for guiding ? Is it the ED80 and DSI ?

Hi Steve I use the ED80 and a QHY5 (que guider) nice little camera. I must sell the DSI and GPUSB guide controller one day.
I have some shots of my set up on http://www.darkskyau.com better go pack up for the night. Imaged NGC4945 and M8 this evening.

Looks good Doug, maybe you should have got a white dog

Is Coppermine a free album site ? I like that you can change the look of the album.

coppermine is (or was last time I used it) freeware.. Very powerful too.

Coppermine is a freeware gallery program but you have to have a web space with PHP, SQL and FTP access to be able to set it up and use it. It gives you the ability to customise and upload and update from any internet connection anywhere.

Doug

Yes I am fortunate to have a plywood ROR observatory. The Minister of Finance approved it's construction but did say make it big enough for a bed as I would need it should I buy any more telescope or astro equipment. (No sense of humor)

and to think, Im trying to convince my parents that a permanent concrete pier in the middle of the back yard would make an interesting feature :P

Hi Doug, just had a look at your shared web site. Your observatory looks good and makes me very jealous .

I had trouble working out who had taken what image though

One thing that was plainly obvious though was that Paul Haese has taken some fantastic Jupiter shots recently :eyepop: The Solar System category in the David Malin Awards will be a tough call for him this year it would seem? :)

Nice work Doug. Saturation may need a little work but some lovely details present. A quick tip - crop out your image alignment/registration (seen along the left border). If you're using data stretch tools that analysis your data such a digital development, it will also take the black registration into account. Crop it as early as possible in your routine to keep the histogram as clean as possible.

Thanks for that one Jase I never thought of that but can understand and it is probably my histogram gremlin on some other images.

Just catching up after being off line for a while.

Great image Doug. There's loads of detail there. You're sure getting the hang of the QHY8 and isn't it great the help we all get from IIS members. They help us all to improve more quickly.
