Here are some better quality pics of my installation of Argo Navis/Servocat Junior on the 16" Tridob. Aim was to add Goto without adding much setup time and keeping the scope's minimalist looks.

I think I have succeeded!:D

Here are some closeups of the rocker and the rear of the motor units. Note the adaptation of the servocat powered ground board kit. The Az motor unit knurled roller drives on the top of the ground ring. The Alt cable drive runs on the central rear fin to avoid torsional forces.

Very cool, Tim! Nothing like seeing a big dob swing around on its own.

You going to put a webcam in it now that you have tracking? :)

I'm pretty much a visual observer only at the moment - but I might try some basic imaging in the future. :)

Awesome Tim

I bet she is a pleasure to use. Did you step up from from your ETX 125 to
your new 16", I bet that put the Wow! factor back into observing. The
servocat looks pretty neat in action on a truss dob, like your waiting for
it to launch a balistic missile

Cant wait to get mine up and rock'n but she'll be push to

regards,CS

Yeah DSO stuff sure is a new experience after the 5" ETX. Mind you, I still like the convenience of the smaller scope that I leave assembled on it's tripod for a quick look at the moon, planets and double stars at home.
