Almost zero scope setup. 5 x 5 minute exposures. Very little photoshop. Lots of darks no flats.

It's just so much better than the DSI could ever be.

Added a better image.

Nice first light mate! You've gotta be happy with that!

Hi Tandum,

It looks like it may be good except that its very hard to see any detail. Before compressing you should reduce to say 1200 px in photoshop save for web then jpeg compress. A DSLR has lots more pixels than any DSI so you really need to do this before posting or all people see are compression artifacts.

Alternatively, Google pages allows you to set up a free website in a matter of minutes with a few mouse clicks, then you can post a much less compressd image.

Cheers
Paul

Hi Robin, that's fantastic to get that result so quickly, well done:thumbsup:.

... now if I could just crawl out of the guiding sandpit and join you guys in the game that would be even better:D

I was more interested in functionality than presentation here, but I'll upload another image when I'm back on the quad core box. There's a lot of bits that need to work in tandum to get a result ;) Not having oblong stars with a seriously overloaded and out of balance mount is great. The machine shop just rang and my counterweight extension bar is ready
