Hi all

Finally getting through the backlog, only one more session to go now.

Some more images from the other week, unfortunately in only average seeing but some reasonable detail still visible and Io looks nice in the second image after it had appeared from behind Jupiter about 35 minutes earlier.

12" newt, DMK21AU04, 30fps in each channel.

Thanks

Nice work, Mike.

Colour looks good and it looks like you've milked every bit of detail out of the data you captured.

Oh for some good seeing, eh?

i happened to have a look at the only jupiter image I have ever produced -was some years ago-earlier today and I am glad I looked at that before this stunning result...just puts it in perspective so to speak

wonderful stuff

Thanks Narayan and Matt. Narayan i'm sure you've learnt a lot since then - i'm sure you could do some great images with the DSO skills you've got.

Matt - yeh you're right about the seeing. I had about 5 days of "reasonable" seeing but nothing as good as Anthony or Paul got during that same period. Their images have been tops. Still waiting for that exceptional night.

A good result Mike, I really like the second image with Io.

I can't wait to see what you can do when you get exceptional seeing.

Nice images Mike and the second one being the best, as you redorded the conditions were slightly better for it.

Well done.

Yes what we need is a automatic processing program, just put in the avi one end and out it comes all processed. When we get a number of good seeing nights the time taken to process the images can be very long.

Just for interest, how long does it take you to process one avi Mike?

I haven't timed myself, but would be between 1-2 hours.

Yet more incredibly detailed images.

You always seem to be able to capture detail on Io Mike :)

I agree with Lester about automatic processing. It would be great if all these tools could be driven from the command line and put together in a script. I love the way you can drive ninox command line.

I would be great if Registax could process the red, green and blue channels separately in an automated fashion. Maybe something to consider looking into when I've found a job and settled into it a bit.

Hey Mike, now that's the kind of backlog I wish I had...:D

the one on the right is the pick, lovely band detail, impressive:thumbsup:

Thanks guys.

Lester, hard to judge - some of it is automated after initial setup (virtual dub to bmp's, ninox), then through registax. A single avi probably takes a few hours.

I hardly get time to process them these days, which is why the backlog takes so long to get through.
