To all and sundry, I recently joined this forum and have found your advice, knowledge and beer drinking skills of the highest quality :).

I am very much a newb with astronomy but have some experience with photography and a passionate desire to capture the cosmos.

I know I'll need help so please be gentle with me .......

Cheers to all.

Peter

Hey Andrew .... I'm in need of a dark sky to play with my gear, fancy a late night soon?

Sure ... how far do you want to travel? There is a nice spot out in the Lockyer Valley - about 3/4 of an hour from my place (less from yours) for a dusk to midnight session, or there is the very dark skies of Leyburn (2 hours drive and I usually camp the night ... sometimes two nights :) ). Of course we could always meet-up in a backyard somewhere.

Both sound good - Maybe start off with the Lockyer Valley and try an organise overnighter a bit later on :)
