Hi all
Here's another two images from an excellent session on the 10th May, when the seeing was excellent across most of Australia as Anthony and Paul's images reflect.
However I had very poor transparency at my location, with a very thick fog cutting my histogram to shreds - I had to image at 15fps and even then the histogram was less than 50% full.
The images are just over an hour apart. The second image was taken in slightly better seeing, but transparency was even less at that time so the image is noisier as I had less frames to work with.
Taken with my 12" newt and DMK21AU04. North is up.
Thanks for looking.

Top images Mike.
Just goes to show that fog doesn't hinder sharpness of detail, just transperancey.
Lots of detail in those images.

Are you using any colour filters to bring out more contrast ?
Very nice nonetheless.

Thanks guys.
Ian, i'm using a monochrome camera - so I use R, G, B bandpass filters that only let in those specific wavelengths of light.
Have a look at this article (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/index.php?id=63,468,0,0,1,0) for more info about it.
Nice work again mike, tonight might be the last night for good seeing for a while, make the most of it :-)
cheers, Bird

Yet more amazing images Mike. The detail on that second image through the fog is awesome.
Hope tonight ends up treating you well :)

Hey Mike:eyepop: this has all the ticks, I especially like the detail you've pulled from the equatorial zone. I tend to burn this out, but this is great.

A gold medal for your perseverance, it certainly is paying off. The details is great and that with the fog to shoot through.
