Good Morning all, Yesterday and last evening would have to been the most stressful time I have had for some time.

I successfully Modded the 5D for Imaging, scary stuff :scared: :scared:, but all in all it went pretty well, just fiddly and slow, probably took me longer than the professionals, but then I had plenty of time.

I crossed my fingers, toes, and anything that could be crossed, put the battery in and presto the lights came on, all is well and everything is functioning perfectly. :scared3:

It even takes Pic's

When the time is right I will have to test it out on the scope.

Just thought I had better tell you.

Leon

Well done leon - bravery of the highest order!!!

Here are some of the web addresses of sites related to white/colour balancing of modded dslrs I have found on my travels. Some may be helpful to those of us starting out on the modded road!
Cheers
Doug

Good stuff Leon. I would have liked to be a fly on the wall watching.

The 5D modded should be a great performer.

Thanks Guys, yes I have to admit it was a brave move, :scared: :scared: and I cant wait to see the results myself.

Did a couple of test flats through the scope this morning to look for dust bunnies, hmmmm, I said to myself I see two of the little buggers in between the new filter and the sensor. :eyepop:

I hate dust, so they had to go, pulled it apart this morning, much quicker than the first time, and now all is well. ;)

I feel satisified with the job and only the results will tell if it was worth the effort.

You know there is no turning back once you have that sensor in your hand

It is at the end of the job, when it is all put back together, when you cross your fingers and toes, and anything else that you can cross, stick the battery in close your eyes, and turn on the switch.

If you see that red light and the screen light up you can stop holding your breath and breath again, if not your stuffed. :help: :help:

Leon
