Does anyone else suffer from pointing weirdness with regards to the southern cross?
My problem is this.
I have entered into the user objects, five stars that I can sync to if the goto gets a little funky. I basically do a trip around the sky and resync some stars, however with acrux I get the weirdest things happen, in fact I get weird pointing inaccuracies with the the whole constellation.
I slew to Acrux then center it and go to add it to the object data base, it asks you to put in coords in Ra/Dec and it shows you the current position you are at. All is good so far, I hit enter to commit the coords to the memory, it then asks you if you want to view object I press yes and it will slew about 10deg west of where Acrux is. If I select Gacrux or Mimosa the same thing happens, the same thing does not happen with Alpha Cent. I should say that it's not only when I am trying to store the coords in the user data base that this happens, also this is the only constellation I experience this with. Every other star/object when slewed to is pretty much dead center.
Could some one with an HEQ5Pro try this to verify if this is a soft ware issue or a dick head issue ;)
Thanks
