Well here is my first attempt at prime focal photography.
Actually its my first time at any sort of photography

This skywatcher scope is so user adaptable friendly to connect up the nikon D70 camera. Now to work out how too use it. (no instructions)

ISO set too 800 for this shot
500th sec exposure i think.
No filtering just the raw image converted to a jpg resized and cropped

Please be gentle

Cheers

Torr

PS Ooops sorry wrong section I think

That's a good first attempt Torr !
Better than my first try. ;)

One suggestion I'd like to make is to lower the ISO a bit next time.

A great start.

(I've moved this into the Solar section btw)

Yes a very good first attempt Torr, possibly a little bright, but otherwise a top effort.

Very detailed. I'd be thrilled with that for my first astrophotography attempt.

Nice shot mate! as someone already said, I'd go lower ISO and a slower shutter speed. ISO400 @ 1/250~1/100 should produce some nice results... I too just posted my first shots today, (albeit with a 4x barlow, so it was a fair bit closer than that.) you seem to have your focus sorted out nicely..

That said. for a first shot you couldnt be happier in my opinion.

Alex.

First of all I apologize for the bad weather in the south west of WA as I was gettin all excited with the arrival of my new 2* TeleVue barlow which I just received this arvo.:shrug:

Anyway here's my second attempt at the moon, just prime focused no lenses or anything
ISO = 400
Exposure = 500th of a second
