Hi guys.

Here's a few shots of the moon from yesterday morning, in-between Mars captures.

Each mosaic is made up of 3 images, and each image is a stack of between 5-10 frames. Stitched in autostitch, processed in photoshop.

For a fullsize version of the mosaic's (at 3750mm FL), click the following links:

Clavius Mosaic (230k) (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/images/images/moon/20050729-clav-mosaic-full.jpg)

Tycho Mosaic (230k) (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/images/images/moon/20050729-tycho-mosaic-full.jpg)

Don't forget to expand them if your browser resizes them.

See the smaller sized versions in the attachments below. There's also a shot of the straight wall.

I think these are my best moon shots at that focal length, I am particularly pleased with the Tycho shot.

Comments welcome.

Hi Mike

Those are very nice images - excellent technique to get these with a dobsonian. I agree with your favourite; the terraces in Tycho look almost within reach.

Well done.

And yes, these were using the EQ platform, however it wasn't properly aligned (see Mars post) and so I could only capture about 300 frames at a time (@10fps).
