Hi everyone,

here's another image stockpiled from last new moon. This one is RCW33 and the image is 2.2 degrees wide.

The image was done with Houghys cooled Canon 350D on my WO 4.3" refractor and autoguided on the G-11 mount.

Go here for a better look http://www.skylab.com.au/pmsa/RCW-33.html

regards to all

That's some serious nebulosity! Nicely done Paul.

How are you finding the cooled modded 350D? Make you want one?

Well hello Iceman (long time no el-talko)

Yeah that is a lot of nebula when you consider the image is spanning just over 2-degrees.

Houghy took the cooled modded 350D back :-(

But yes it is good - certainly maintains lower dark noise and I can routinely use ISO800 whereas this ISO seems to noisy on non-cooled cameras. There are a few picky bits I don't like:
a) it is heavy!
b) it gives you cold sores (whahahaha:lol:... when you look through camera's view finder the cold air being expelled from the cooler freezes one side of your face.... ).
c) it is rather expensive.

cheers mate
