Hi all,
here's an image I did a few weeks back of the Pencil Nebula and RCW38.
The image was done with my WO 4.3" APO refractor working at f/4.7 and my modded Canon 300D autoguided on the G-11 mount.
There's a much better look at the image here http://www.skylab.com.au/pmsa/Pencil_Nebula.html

Very nicely done, Paul. Colours look good and so is the detail.
Nice pencil Paul, now I can see what mine was supposed to look like the other day , well done,
However I have to ask if you can get an image like that with your 400d, (unmodded i presume) why cant I get close to this with the 5d and with more subs than what you took.
My subs were 6mins as well, and at 500 ISO through the Tak, but my result was pretty dismal, I think.

Hello Leon
Well I couldn't say for sure without knowing more details. But at a guess by the look of your images you are using AUTO -> Digitial Development in ImagesPlus ? If you are - the problem could be associated with AUTO. I find AUTO DDP cuts the background too black and you loose detail in the shadows when you do that.
Maybe cause you are using a Tak and not a WO ( whahahahaha )
best regards
Paul
