Leave the top cap on your viewfinder, when you are not using it, to keep the dew off.
Great hint,
Another hint along the same lines
When your as old as me and you are losing a bit of hair, put a Beanie on to keep the dew off.
I am going to purchase one of those fantastically modelled IIS Beanie's next week:thumbsup:
Another hint for imagers mainly.
Don't forget to take the Hartmann mask off after fine focussing, I find the views are a lot better.
Cheers

To keep dew off a larger sized ep when leaving it in the focusser for a while slip a neoprene (wetsuit material) stubby/can cooler over it - preferably a DRY unused one.
They fit the Orion Stratus / Baader Hyperion / Vixen LVW ep's close enough to stay in place but loose enough to slip on and off. Try to get a cooler that doesn't have the smal "drain" hole in the bottom.
(I actually carry 2-3 coolers in my obs gear now for just this purpose - and another to actually keep the coke cold!)
:P
I use one of those for the view finder on my 10" dob and I use an old white beach towel draped over the dob when checking out the computer etc. The towel also serves as a shoulder warmer when viewing.

And cool the front of your newtonian's mirror with a fan rather than the back!
