after the shock of the data i got , i have given it a quick process,

this is nothing like processing DSLR images and is going to take some getting used to, you think theres nothing there , it looks like nothing and then.......

what can i say, perhaps i owe everyone an apology, im big enough if its required

this is not a great job of proccessing but here tis and no flats or darks go figure..... this is a weird experience.:ashamed:

great shot Clive. I just read your previous post , i knew there were some processing missing. Had the same issue with playing .fits with the DSI's.

Now THATS an image i expected.

Good work on the gain and offsett.
If anything Clive, i figured you may have had a problem with the Gain Offsett.
But as this picture shows, youve NAILED it.
Well done mate, for a first light im impressed...
I'd like to see it after you spend some time on it..

thanks for all your support guys, its sooooo different from dslr processing , dslr is all about keeping the noise at bay and just pushing till it almost goes over the edge, this is so much ....... different, its all about signal, depth of levels (true 16 bit) and other stuff.

now that i reckon i understand the well depth thing and how it functions , i reckon its a GREAT camera, cant wait to do a proper image, this was just meant to be a test shot and well.... it sort of went from there.

if i understood it a couple of days ago it would have been better, theres actually more in the image than the quick fix i did on it, added a bit, could probably do more but i dont think its worth spending too much on...... wait for the next image.

i will be doing a review write up on the qhy8 explaining some of the things ive learnt, give me a couple of weeks to do a decent image, but i give the camera a big .

clive.
